Top-seeded IM Vikramaditya Kulkarni justified his top-billing by winning the 3rd edition of the ICS Mumbai Open FIDE Rating Chess Tournament with a whopping score of 8.5/9! We are though 7-rounds of the ICS 3rd Mumbai Open FIDE Rating Chess Tournament being held at the Don Bosco High School, Matunga and still no leader has been spotted!! On the top-board fierce fighting was witnessed between IM Aditya Udeshi and Sagar Shah wherein the former survived the onslaught of Sagar Shah to draw the game. IM Aditya Udeshi and IM norm holder, Sagar Shah are sharing the lead with a perfect at the end of round-6 of the ICS 3rd Mumbai Open FIDE Rating Chess Tournament in progress here at the Don Bosco High School, Matunga. The half-way stage of the Indian Chess School’s 3rd FIDE Rating Chess Tournament in progress here at Don Bosco High School, Matunga, witnessed a major shock as Top-seeded International Master, Vikramaditya Kulkarni (ELO 2458) was held to a draw by Rajababu Gajengi (ELO 1983) in the 5th round. Aditya Sukhlecha (1569) Stuns Shavdirov Jahongir (1917)

The heartening feature of this event for our trainees is that each of them have been able to defeat a higher ranked player in the Asian School Chess Championship 2011 in progress here at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium. In the 6th round it was the turn of Aditya Sukhlecha as he defeated 6th seeded Shavidirov Jahongir of Uzbekistan to move on to 4/6 in the U-13 section.    

Adarsha Narayanan Wins RoChess!!

The rate at which this 7-year old kid, Adarsha Narayanan is winning the trophies, their parents would soon be required to purchase one more cupboard! Adarsha continued his excellent run by winning the group1 (for Standard 1 & 2 students) with a perfect score of 6/6 in the traditional RoChess Festival, which concluded at Thane on 18th December, 2011. Bravo, Adarsha!! Adarsha’s elder brother, Adithya scored 5/7 in group3 (Standard 5 to 7) to secure 12th positon. Saurabh Kulkarni Secures 2nd Place in ROChess 2011

10-year old, Saurabh Kulkarni of MKVVI, Borivali has done ICS proud by winning the 2nd place in the Ro-Chess Festival 2011 with a score of 5/6. Congratulations Saurabh, I look forward to see you becoming a FIDE Rated player soon and bring laurels at the State and National level Chess tournaments!!  

Aditya, Aakash, Shrey and Kushal Wins

The round-5 of the Asian Schools Chess Championship 2011 in progress here at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, New Delhi turned out to be a good one for the trainees as four players, Aditya, Shrey, Kushal and Aakash recorded victories over their respective rivals. Aditya has moved on 3/5 while Shrey and Kushal are on 2.5/5 and Aakash on 2/5. Four more remains to be played in this event to decide the Asian School Champions in the 6 age-group categories:
