The basic objective of schools is to ensure excellent education for its children and prepare them for the real world. Schools ensures fulfillment of this objective and help students reach their potential by providing them different outlets and opportunities. And, one such opportunity is sports!
Without sports, elementary education would be boring and lifeless for young school children. In fact, it vital for kids as it makes them learn a lot about life.

Sports brings with it the following advantages:
  • It inculcates discipline
  • It promotes self-confidence
  • It teach the value of respectfulness
  • It inculcates sportsmanship
  • It improves perseverance and brings determination
  • It improves health
  • Its develops competitive nature
  • It helps in planning and preparing for life ahead

Thus, the importance of sports in the life of a young student is invaluable. Sports impart lessons that are essential in the life of a student and play a pivotal role in the makeup of a young child. Schools across the world have realized the importance of sports and that is precisely the reason why games and sports form an integral part of school curriculum. It is commonplace in India to see schools having adopted games and sports like Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Chess Cricket, Football, Hockey, Table Tennis, Tennis, Volleyball, etc. However, most of the schools, though armed with best of sports infrastructure in terms of playground, stadium, equipment (of course, finance included) have not been able to realize full potential from sports. What is the basic reason?

Well, the success of any sports program depends on expertise of sports trainers/coaches and, I have to say that there is real dearth of quality sports trainers/coaches and their availability is much less as compared to the number of schools who demand their services. That is precisely the reason why most of the schools though in dire need of providing sports training are unable to do so because of the absence of qualified trainers/coaches.

This imbalance forces the schools to compromise and they are left with no option but to go ahead with whatever quality of trainers available. Naturally, such schools lags behind in terms of sports achievements at inter-school sports meet and other tournaments of importance. Time and again we have seen talented children failing to reach the pinnacle - more due to the lack of a sound training system rather than the shortage of talent. The end results is that parents of a potential children are forced to look at some private sports academies and trainers to fulfill the sports aspirations. To offset this problem the schools are facing, sports academies – each specializing in their own sports discipline – are coming forward to offer their services. The expertise offered by this academies will go a long way not only in increasing the popularity of the game but also in producing a huge pool of talented young players and high quality coaches so as to excel at all levels of sports meet. And, for the game of Chess, you do not have to search further! Indian Chess School is here!

Come, let us join hands for a unique program ‘Chess in Schools’!
