ICS 3rd Mumbai Open – Announcements

At the outset I would like to say a ‘Big Thanks’ to the Mumbai Chess fraternity for the overwhelming response to our tournament!!

The entries is nearing 200 mark and another 50 are on the way!!

Here are few important announcements so as to ensure smooth conduct of the tournament:

  1. Please do not bring your car inside the school premises. Kindly co-operate with the School’s security staff in this regard. Ample parking is available on the entire stretch of the road. However, ensure proper parking to avoid towing of your vehicles.
  2. We would be closing the entries tomorrow evening at 21.00 hours. As per our benchmarks ‘No Spot Entries’.
  3. Kindly report at 09.30 hours on 27th December, 2011.
  4. Confirm your attendance at the registration counter and pay the required entry fees. The tournament hall is on the 1st floor above the canteen.
  5. The opening ceremony includes the lighting of the traditional lamp with a prayer to ensure success of the event.
  6. Rounds will commence immediately after the ceremony.
  7. Players having Digital Clocks are kindly requested to bring the same. Our vision is have Digital Chess Clocks on all the tables at the start of the round!!
  8. The time-control is 90m+30s/Player.
  9. As per numerous requests received from the players, the revised schedule of morning round is 09.30 am. The afternoon round would be held as usual at 03.30 pm. A total of 9-rounds are scheduled over a period of 5-days.
  10. Parings would displayed on our website www.indianchessschool.com.
  11. The school has a canteen facility wherein snacks like Vada Pav, Samosa, Misal, Usal, Sandwich, Burger, Hot Dog are available. In addition, tea, coffee and mineral water is also available. As regards hotels around the vicinity, the area is famous for South Indian eateries like Mysore and Madras Cafe, which is just across the street opposite the school on the Maheswari Garden Circle.
  12. Kindly avoid eating in the tournament hall proper as per the instructions received from the school authorities.
  13. The premises also houses a Church. As such, please maintain the sanctity of the Church.
  14. The washrooms are situated in the main school building opposite to the tournament hall.
  15. Kindly complete the AICF/MCA Registration facilities on the 2nd day of the tournament – 28 December, 2011.
