Top-seeded IM Vikramaditya Kulkarni justified his top-billing by winning the 3rd edition of the ICS Mumbai Open FIDE Rating Chess Tournament with a whopping score of 8.5/9! Vikramaditya became richer by Rs.21,000/- and the coveted B.M. Zaveri Memorial Trophy.
Barring his 4th and 5th rounds games against Rajababu Gajengi and Wakil Akhtar, Vikramaditya was in full elements in the remaining games and on the way scalped Aditya Udeshi and Sagar Shah
The tournament found a surprise as the 2nd & 3rd placed were secured by Snehal Bhosale and Shiva Pillai ahead of IM Aditya Udeshi, who had to be content with 4th position. Snehal defeated Parnali Dharia whereas Shiva Pillai held Aditya Udesh to a draw.
