Vishy Anand’s 50th Birthday

Viswanathan Anand, known as Vishy or the tiger of Madras, India (born 11 December 1969) is a former World Chess Champion. When he was just six years old he learnt to play chess from his mother because of his sheer domination in chess. Vishy is the oldest player in modern times to become classical World Champion for the first time: he was 37 when he won in 2007. When the world championship was split, Anand played in both versions .He is the oldest player in modern world to win classical chess championship. He is a legend in chess and a former World Chess Champion, the first chess icon from India, and is often regarded as the best rapid player of his generation.

Anand dominated World Chess from 2007 to 2013 and won the World Chess Championship 5 times.  He’s one of the greatest player ever known for his rapid moves in the game of Chess, he got the nickname “Lightning Kid”. Anand is the only player to have won the world chess championship in the tournament, match, and knockout format, as well as rapid time controls.
